Untouchable Elf
« on: September 28, 2010, 08:30:57 pm »

So some Elf Merchants arrived at my fortress, and luckily enough, as my soldiers hadn't trained much, they didn't have a bodyguard. So I killed 2 of them without difficulty, but as soon as I went after the third one, he apparently turned into some sort of ninja.

The combat report right now is over 100 pages long, and it's all deflected attacks. They've been chasing him all over the map and they've been attacking him constantly, but they just can't get through. He seems to be entirely covered in rope reed fiber, so I don't know if that's why, or why that would make him impossible to hit.

Is this some sort of bug, or is the guy just really good at not getting hit?

He is a secret jedi elf.
Samuel, use the magma!

In seriousness, he is probably the result of incredible luck and high dodge.

welp, that's over. My dwarves managed to surround him and hold him in place until my Axedwarf leapt in and strangled him to death. Man, I love this game.

I would love to see combat logs of this.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

Regular clothes are pretty good armor vs. training weapons and still decent against copper ones. If you had something mad eof iron or better, though, he should have gone doown a lot faster.

In one of my early 31.X forts I had a hungry head fly into to the lower levels of my fort through the caverns. My unarmed military (my fort was still pretty young and I was in the process of obtaining magma when it got in) spent about two months kicking it around like a soccer ball before it evidently got bored and flew back out the way it had come in.

Apparently, the game dosn't save combat reports for long. The 100 page log against the elf is gone. Sorry.

Check the game_log.txt file in your DF directory.  It logs everything. :D
