Opinion on the best LP and Best Resource for new players?

Hi guys, first time poster so don't tear me up too much
I was wondering if you guys had an opinion on the best LP to watch and the best resources for newbies?  I followed a guide that was on the Dwarf Wiki
"The Complete and Utter Newby Tutorial for Dwarf Fortress"
I followed it till about Chapter 8 when I realized I was playing the old version of DF.

I sort of have the general concept, and have been thinking of jumping right in with the wiki on my side.

JefMajor and CpnDuck. I learned all my DF skills from them. Also, you may be interested in my LPs. Check the adventure forum for its page. It should be at the top right now.

Is Capt.Duck the guy with the Awesome accent? Didn't he trap a  dragon in a tin cage? I need to watch those, then try fort mode.
