Unarmed dwarves and clothing.
« on: September 23, 2010, 01:37:00 pm »

Alright, a migration wave apparently composed of the lineup of the Dwarven Wrestling Federation got me to thinking...

How do clothing materials (cloth vs. metal gloves and boots, mostly) affect punchers and kickers?

I'll leave wrestling and biting out, since I know armor works with wrestlers and I have yet to see dwarven grills.

Will a kicker with hoary marmot shoes just not do as well as Urist McSilverboot? Can I go ahead and start making some brass gauntlets?

On that note, do shields even help wrestlers, or just get in the way?

shields will both help and hinder, with a shield dwafs will block more often but may attack by bashing with the shield.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

This is actually a fairly effective attack.

However Misc Object User is much harder to raise and you won't get any skill with it from danger room training.

Still, a dwarf running around with two shields jamming people's skulls through their brains through steel helmets is funny if nothing else.
