Flux Matrials not avaliable for import?
« on: March 10, 2008, 07:54:00 am »

I was looking through the import list, and i couldn't find any of the flux materials under stones.

This is a bit disappointing as my map has no flux, but plenty of iron.

Its not that much of a big deal, iron will do just fine. But it would be nice to be able to import flux materials as well, don't you think?

In 33g, you could import limestone, chalk, marble, etc. just fine.

You can only import stone from dwarves.  If that doesn't work, what size map zre you on?  Maybe the dwarf civilization doesn't have any access to flux?

It's not -necessarily- related to map size...but bigger maps tend to mean more dwarven settlements, which means more chance that your civ has access to flux SOMEwhere.

Maybe you can get lucky with the humans...I don't know if they ever bring stone.

My current pocketworld fort has boatloads of goblin (and mined) iron.  Parent civ has access to steel (they keep trading me steel bolts, steel anvils, and other steel items) but no flux.  None.  Zero.

It happens. I once had a 1 city dwarf civ that had no silk, no underground plants,   no alcohol) and had only one page worth of ores/rocks. Some dwarves are just poor.

This happens on fullsize maps also. Sowelu is correct, its directly tied to what is available for your specific parent civilization. Had this happen in the 33a-g series. Re-embarking with a different parent civ altered at least a third of the available goods for me. It was sad... the other limited civ had a nice name like Halls of Murdering or some such.
