caravan doesn't like my drawbridge
« on: September 23, 2010, 09:31:57 am »

I've got a downward rampway with clear Depot access to the exterior, until I put a drawbridge across the top of the ramps about halfway down. I've tried placing both raising and retracting, width-wise and lengthwise, but Depot access is cut off every time, whether it's open or shut.

If I can get this to work, would caravans even come near air-locking dual drawbridges?

Is this just when you check Depot Access or are your caravans not crossing the bridge?

If it's just Depot Access ignore it. 99% of the time if your Dwarves can path somewhere the caravan will too.

Airlocks, though, are tricky because the caravan won't start moving until it can find the path, so they won't move into the airlock and wait for the gates to flip.

Both. The caravan didn't move until I dismantled the drawbridge, then it teleported straight to the Depot from more than halfway across the map.
