Can I tell my dwarves to stay inside?
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:20:02 am »

Hi,
is there a way to tell my dwarves to stay inside and, if currently outside, cancel any job and go inside asap? I just had a tantrum spiral because some popular civillians went outside during an ambush.

I tried to use a drawbridge as an entry, but this would trap those who are currently outside.

Thanks!

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

There's also some useful things in the Orders menu:
(o - F - cio) to forbid your dead/death items/other dead, so that when a guy dies, you don't have 25 other guys rushing out to grab his crap and his corpse;
(o - r - o) to toggle "gather refuse from outside" if it's on
(o - w) toggle "gather wood"
etc.
