I load them with 10 wooden weapons, but I'm lately pretty converted to the dodge-me catwalk structure, it's just too funny and efficient.  If the trap happens to kill a guy, whatever, but the real trap is the catwalk strategy (thanks Psieye).

10 weapons per trap is effective use of killing space.  Without quality mechanisms, it may not be the best idea, but if you have a relatively small entrance and plenty of quality materials on hand, it would make more sense than 9.

Depends on the material - if you have any kind of decent metal to make the discs out of, 3 will be the best option (nothing will get past even them, unless there's a proper siege charging down the hallway and they all roll natural 1 on the jam roll).
