Looking for Dawn of Discovery Players
« on: September 08, 2010, 01:04:46 am »

The Dawn of Discovery multiplayer is completely empty most of the time I go on it. So I am wondering if anyone here would like to play Dawn of Discovery with me some time. It's a really fun game and the few times I managed to scrape a few people together for multiplayer it was awesome.

I tend to shy away from playing multiplayer after watching a few multi hour games totally ruined by random bugs. My favorite is watching a road magically connect across multiple islands, blocking any ships from sailing over it and bisecting the entire map.

Dawn of Discovery looks pretty sweet. I have been jonesing for one of these games lately.  From reading the reviews, it sounds pretty fun.  I would be interested in playing some MP sometime.  I will definately buy it as long as it's on STEAM.

EDIT: Ahh.. they have the gold edition for $30, just picked it up.  PM me if you are interested in a game... although I've never played it before!

Only The Guild series can combat this one in terms of massive amount of time wasted. Both games you can play multiplayer for hours, barely interacting with other players only to have gamebreaking bugs stop everything right before it gets interesting.

I think it could be fun if you played it like an RTS. Ie attack other players ASAP, and keep attacking till they're dead. The threat of bugs makes me wary of starting a game, though, and I don't think I could play multi with my full demo edition anyway.

The cost of ships and level of technology needed to have said ships means the quickest you could do this is probably within two hours.

You start with one ship. Don't recall how long it takes to get the first soldiers, though.
