What exactly would we have played as if we picked the lake?
((There were essentially three choices: dark lord, hero, or kingdom. The lake would be a variation of that third one, putting you in charge of less destructive mythical creatures. Faries, elves, dwarves, etc. Don't worry too much about it though. This is gonna be more a series of sub-games than a single one...))

Given their relative lack of defenses, he's pretty certain getting the town to agree to your rule won't be hard, should you want him to. Before you have time to give any such orders though, the figure across the table takes his next move.
"A surprisingly non-violent start, given the resources you have at your disposal... Now to make things a bit harder." He set another piece down on the board, a mounted knight far from your tower. A group of smaller pieces appeared behind the knight moments later, all identical to the first.
