Artifact problem
« on: September 04, 2010, 08:26:03 pm »

In my latest fort, v .12, I've had two artifacts, one of which only consumed a bar of metal, and produced expected decorations, the other was made from mule bone, iron, and rough onyxs, and produced an undecorated mulebone ring worth 1200. anyone else experienced something similar?

It's a bug. It just deletes decorations when an artifact is made of bone, and there is no workaround. Sorry.

Hey, at least you get a legendary bonecrafter.

Unless it was a posession, then it's kind of a kick in the teeth.

(Oh god a pun)
It just a really skeletal process that involves stripping away the meat of the artifact...

I typically let a few cats out to be adopted for breeding, and cage their kittens. Once they hit the pop cap, I can slaughter some kittens and the cats will replace them in a few seasons. It's a renewable resource!

my dwarves have 20-something pets I believe, due to my own incompetance and immigrants, so I get a steady stream of kittens and puppies to grind up into food and bones to decorate my exports with.
