when creating world after saving game, regions always re
« on: October 11, 2007, 04:38:00 pm »

I cannot create a new world after I save an existing game of DF. All regions that make it to the "Initiallizing age of myths" are rejected at that point. I once waited through 170 rejected regions. If I exit the game entirely and restart it, world creation is always successful before 20 rejected regions.

I just tried this and got a world after 27 rejects.  It's possible your luck was just bad.  170 rejects isn't uncommon.

Yeah, it can take 15 to 20 minutes to generate a world. Alternatively, use a pregenerated world. Saves you some time and trouble.

I almost always have worlds reliably fail at at "Importing Wildlife"

They can get through everything else fine, but then they hit that and blow up.

It probably rejects worlds that cannot have more than 75% of the landmass inhabited by elephants. :P
