Evil Embark. Eviller than Evil.
« on: September 05, 2010, 01:41:04 am »

So not only was the embark evil, the wagon was placed on top of a tile, that immediately collapsed, dumping 4 of my dwarves straight to the magma sea.

You've struck Clownite, praise the miners! x2

And then I removed the volcano's walls. Yay for flooding!

This looks like an excellent place to park Urist!

Yes indeed Urist!

I shall now begin mining.

-strikes the earth-

We seem to be falling Urist!

Yes Urist I believe we are!

What is that wonderful red light below?

-plop-

Nope. No mining involved.

I unpaused the game, and the floor piece dropped straight into the volcano, deconstructing the wagon, and 4 dwarfs, 2 dogs, and I think a cat or two, went plop sizzle. 3 seconds after I unpaused it and watched my dwarves fall, I got the "Praise the Miners", and another after that unpause.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Well, no... That part didn't happen.

Do you have mods? Could be a duplicate raw thing. Those cause a lot of stuff.

Worldgen/site info, please?

I think the game's trying to say that it hates you.

I've gotten cave-ins immediately after embarking a lot of times with the unmodded game, although never quite this unlucky.

What do you mean, unlucky?  He now knows exactly where the clownite is for his weapons!  All he has to do is hold out until the first migrant tsunami.

No, I think it is saying it loves you in DF speak.

Well, if the game loves you, then the program would send waves of angry elves... Not dropping you in a volcano. It looks like your dwarves were the perfect candidates for a lesson in dwarf worshipping: the pit of doom.

Dwarf Fortress wouldn't hurt us if it didn't love us, would it?
