The nerfnow DF comics are honestly really, really, really bad.

I swear, it's as if the guy just read the wiki without even playing the game. Do people actually think jokes like "carp are dangerous" and "cats have negative connotations" are funny anymore? Hell, the only original joke I really spotted in any of them is "turns out the cat is a catgirl", and calling that a "joke" is something of a stretch.


There have been decent DF-based webcomic strips before.

Notice that the author is making observations about how the game works and delivering them with comedic tone and its own aesthetic style (which ties into that of the game in its own way), instead of just reiterating the same boring in-jokes people have been reading on the forums/wiki (and everywhere else) for the past I-don't-know-how-many-years.



tldr; Dude's a hack and "carp are dangerous" hasn't been funny for years and isn't remotely creative.
