You all seem to be missing the core issue here...  Were they able to use Dwarf Therapist?  I'd hate to try to plan the salvation of my species without it.  Although...  DF is more of a genocidal simulator, where you are the race you're trying to extinguish.

Wait, what does thievery have to do with lame, overused jokes? I mean, one is against the law and gets you arrested, while the other is annoying and elicits groans. Not really the best parallel, don'tcha know.
