What is Project Awesome?
Project Awesome is an attempt to do something awesome for the Dwarf Fortress community, and introduce new players to the game.

Basically, I receive a retarded amount of free advertising spots from Google, at random times.  I want to use these to promote this game and community, but there's a lot of bumps on the road that we should probably try to pave over if we can.  So, Project Awesome's main goal is to get together newbie friendly awesomeness for this game.

This entails a lot of work, naturally.  We would need an overarching graphical theme, tutorial work, newbie pack assembly, and many other things.

Can I help?
Yes, please help out in any way possible!  Even editing the wiki helps out for this project.  Also, there is the possibility of prizes for really awesome contributions (tbd, details in progress, etc, etc).

What happened to the Magmawiki project?
It's not dead, it's chugging along at a slow and steady pace.  It's not really relevant to Project Awesome, though.

This fits with my own goal of the Lazy Newb Pack. All that's missing is a pre-genned world/embark. Tuturials don't need to be pack-specific, but it could be done. Bentgirder aspired to do this. The problem is that each new version theoretically everything needs to be re-genned and potentially re-written. Also note some of the youtube tutorials listed on the LNP forum thread.
Basically we can use LNP as a base, and I'm willing have myself and others improve/add to it!
