As nenjin said; pretty neat, you can certainly tell what piece it is.

I remember when I was really young going to some house clearance at a friends house and I got an incomplete Warhammer fantasy box set, it had lots of figures and a few huge cardboard cutouts of the more expensive pieces. I bet they wouldn't allow the use of them these days even though they are official prints.

Wow, I really expected a lot more of a mediocre response than that. You guys are too nice.

I only posted it because my girlfriend found it for me and made me, heh.

I wish I still had some of the better ones, honestly.

Those are actually decent models.  I think in TT games or so, where randomness is less a factor (at least, that's how I perceive it seeing as you don't buy "ork soldier" and then open an opaque box to discover if you got a warlord or another peon) it's less important. In that scenario, I don't really see why people would object except for tournament play or really crappy models, which those were not.

Grendus, I agree with your whole "TCGs are about doing what you can with what you have" element - which is why I don't play Magic anymore, since everyone pretty much just custom bought and tailored their decks. The only kind I ever actually enjoyed over the last several years was when a bunch of players pooled their cards to create a common pool, and everyone had to build their deck out of the same pool. When exclusive access and limited cards is an actual primary component of the environment, I understand why that would play a role - but for most of these games, it isn't. Its about how much cash you're willing to drop on it.

Which brings me back to why people dislike proxies. Just like you hated players buying any card they wanted instead of using what they got randomly in card packs, other players hate when you do the same thing with your printer instead of your cash. The only difference is the cost. Once again, though, with TT games it's less of an issue since those are not as random (at least, as I understand it, and pleas correct me if I'm wrong).

Well, in my case it was mostly people buying decks that was annoying rather than cards. Actually, a "darft" mode completely played with proxies would probably be just as fun - because the important part, the level playing field and inability to "buy yourself to victory" were really what was important. The issue here was not that people could buy whatever card they wanted, so much as they didn't design decks. And designing a deck is what the game of magic was about.

You obviously have a flair for making things. You should try to remake them with your newly gained wisdom from aging!
