it appears now that whenever a guard for one of the various dwarvern caravans that visit me meets his fate via elephant-stomp, my dwarves insist on dumping his body in a tomb as well as all his lovely equipment. I don't seem to recall this happening in past versions, so i wonder if something nasty has croped up in all those equipment changes to prevent us getting free arms& armour from those oh so foolish guards?

Odd.  Perhaps it started deciding creatures worthy of burial needed to belong to your civ rather than being your own dwarves...  I'll set up a report for this and check it out.
