Roaches can survive a nuclear blast, so I imagine magma isn't that much of a stretch for them.

I had several swarms of flies flitting about around the giblets of a slaughtered magma man at the bottom of my magma pipe.  By the way, standard vermin does burn, but swarms of them are invulnerable to everything.

I posted a thread with a picture of them, called "fireflies", and it was already a logged and numbered bug before I did that.

If you had no body but still existed, you wouldn't worry about being burned, either.
