I'm just curious which oops i did so i can go ahead and work towards fixing it.
Alright, i've made a reservoir + waterwheels + small pump stack and busted a hole in a river to fill it. The pump stack goes up two floors above the reservoir, makes a waterfall that falls through my dining hall on the z level above the reservoir, and drops back down into the reservoir.
The reservoir room is level with the open space of the river, so there's no initial worry of flooding, however there's no automatic draining and the waterfall feeds back into the reservoir, so it's filling quickly.
My question is, once this thing fills to bursting, does the water stop coming in from the river, or does the reservoir just flood all over the place?
if it just floods all i have to do is flip a switch, but if it stops coming in from the river my waterwheels are going to shut off and my already tormented dwarves(had a reaaaaaaaaalllllly bad start lol) will definitely maybe go into a tantrum spiral at the loss of their waterfall.
EDIT: DIsreguard this. I just found out my answer, it floods, and fast. Here's to hoping Urist McDrowner can get to the dangerously located switch in time, otherwise the fort will likely slowly, but inevitably, flood
Edit2: Oh wait, that's my pumps that are supposed to be for when it flooded that are flooding it because i forgot to switch their gear assembly off before they got built and the walls weren't ready :/
