"complained about the draft"
« on: August 13, 2010, 01:39:07 am »

What does it mean when I look at a dwarf's thoughts and see that he's complained about the draft lately?  Is he talking about a draft like a cold breeze through the fort?  Or is he upset about being in the military?  In either case what can I do to make him happier?  He's just been steadily getting more and more unhappy.  I'm worried he's going to throw a tantrum or something.

Military draft, yeah.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Yep, it's the military draft.  As for making him happier:

Try making some nice meals and hope he eats them, or give him some time off so he can make friends and talk to them?  If you have any artifact furniture, place it where he'll notice it?
