(If this kind of advertising isnt allowed here, please tell, I couldn't find the rules)

Hey, I'm doing a series of DF lets play videos that are working out fairly well.
If anyone wants to check them out, heres the link!

I'm only on episode 6 but I've been posting an episode or 2 every week.

Just a question, is there a way I could put my save files on another version of dwarf fortress?

Ummm.... what? Do you mean, is there a way to put your save files in the newest version of Dwarf Fortress? If so, the answer is yes.... sometimes.

Otherwise.... what? Minecraft?

Well, some save files are compatible with newer versions, and some aren't. It depends on what has changed since the previous version was released. If you're just moving from 31.10 to 31.12 (which is what I imagine you are) it should work fine.

Go into the dwarf fortress folder, and inside "data" copy the save folder you want to use (region1, region2, whatever it is). Then, paste that folder into "data" in the new version's game folder. Viola, you're finished.
