I say we hide and watch, to determine if the smaller one is freind or ally, if he needs help, blow the larger mutants away.

You hide and watch for a while, managing to stay unseen. After a while you seem to notice that the smaller mutant is actually commanding the others, he seems to be a boss of some sort.

Theses arent slightly mutated people these are abominations twisted into another form.
Shoot leader in head with pistol, get rest of squad ready to open fire if they attack.

I'll post the turn in a bit, having a bath now though. But yeah, those are more akin to mutants from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series than people.

You don't want to attack them, that'll just provoke them!

they probably attacked us before because they thought we were grouped with the bandits. We don't know how smart these mutants are, but they are smart enough to have a hierarchy and command system. Since the commanding mutant is less physically capable than the others, it must command out of intelligence rather than physical ability.

Instead, retreat further up the alley, and send one person to meet them. The person who goes must not have any weaponry, but must bring food supplies. If communication is possible, attempt it, otherwise lay down the supplies near them and retreat back to the rest of the group. In the event that they turn out to be hostile, the messanger must leg it back down the alley. Since the mutants do not have ranged weaponry, we can use the long, constricted space to our advantage if they attack.

ya bad idea, food is way to rare to risk it on a few allies, I still say kill em and loot the bodies.

These are stalker type mutants, they are humans twisted into qaudrupeds, they CAN NOT be reasoned with.
