Modifying adventurer loadout- how?

I'm curious- where is the default adventurer loadout defined? It seems like in the latest version there's always armor and clothing appropriate to the species, a weapon appropriate to the skill, and often a shield regardless of the adventurer's skill, as well as the ever-present large copper dagger. Is this editable in some raw that I just haven't seen, or is it unchangeable?

I'm pretty sure it's hard coded.

You can't actually edit it because it's based on the items the entity can use. It's generated based on your skills and the racial items and materials.
