Best gods
« on: August 09, 2010, 01:16:14 pm »

DF comes up with some pretty fun gods sometimes. Just ran across this one that some dwarves worship in the Legends mode for a world:

Onol the Misty Glitter was a deity that occurs in the myths of The Coincidental Silver. Onol was most often depicted as a male chimpanzee and was associated with lightning, storms, thunder, the rain and trees.

So...an image of a chimpanzee in a tree during a Thunderstorm inspired a god. Huh.

That's actually very appropriate.
Imagine a chimpanzee going completely nuts on a tree, the sound it makes can be associated to a thunderstorm.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Just note that I've seen these threads before.  http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=41474.0 is/was a long-runner.  No sense in letting the amusing gods from a year or so back go to waste.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.
