How to check legends mode?

Is there any way to check legends on a region you've already embarked on/had an adventure on to see if you changed history?

1. Copy the region folder.
2. Load the game from the copied region.
3. Abandon your fortress / retire your adventurer.
4. Go to Legends mode.
