No quick travelling in the mountains?
« on: August 02, 2010, 06:50:26 am »

Hi,

short question, might have been answered before: is not being able to quick travel through the mountains on purpose or is it a bug? It's kinda annoying when you start adventure mode as a dwarf deep within the mountains, having to travel them afoot.

Thanks

Mountains cannot be quick travelled. You shouldn't have to walk manually as a dwarf, as mountain halls can only be built on the edge of mountains, and count as non-mountain terrain.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

So when being a human I have to walk manually through them or, if possible, quick travel around?

You can't quick travel over mountains as any race. He's saying that you shouldn't ever need to fast travel over mountains to get to a dwarf fortress. It may be possible to start out in a valley surrounded on all sides by mountains, but other than that...

Why does my adventurer keep crying?
Greiger's is actually correct...  sadly enough.  The emotional circumstance processor is still turned on, with a randomly rolled up personality, but they can't express themselves or take control...  they can only cry.
