not sure why, but in my last fort, I linked up a lever to a floodgate behind a river and the lever did not work.

More specifically, I was able to open the floodgate with the lever and close it the first time, but after opening the floodgate the second time, I was unable to close the lever no matter how much pulling I did.

I've tried going back to my last save but the same problem still persisted.

Anyone else meet the same problem?

I can upload the map if anyone wants.

What exactly is the problem? Being unable to change the position of the lever, or the gate no closing after pulling it?

If it's the latter... there's a 100 steps delay for floodgates, and doors/floodgates in DF get stuck with alarming ease; the tile needs to be empty.

i had this happen to me before, i just had to remove it and place it again.  I think its a bug

You can prevent plants and trees from growing in the tubes of a hydraulics project (and blocking the water flow or jamming the mechanisms) by laying down a useless stockpile (set to hold NO contents) on the affected tiles. Not sure if this has anything to do with your problem, though.
