Braining with a skull?

How is this possible? I slammed my hammer into a cheeta, and it said "Jamming the skull through the brain". Without shattering the skull. WTF.

You simply caved in a specific piece of the skull, instead of shattering the whole thing. Shattering a skul needs way more power implanted, and using a reasonable application... you won't do so with a warhammer or axe, but a maul? Why not, it can work. Unless you actually used a maul and got that.
