I have made a 3x3 room with a bed, chest, and door for each of my dwarfs and assigned each of them a room, but they still prefer to sleep in the Barracks. Made the barracks as the first room, immediately inside the drawbridge in the beginning as a communal sleeping hall... Now they sleep there no matter what and have ok/negative thoughts about it.

How can I make it so that only some of the military sleeps there? Do I have to scrap the room entirely or what?

Theres a bug with dwarves not respecting room assignments as far as bedrooms go.

The problem seems to be that in DF2010 dorfs will work till they're really tired/thirsty/hungry.  When a dorf finally does stop working, he's tired enough that he just grabs the nearest bed, regardless of what room it's in.
