How do you modify smelter reactions in the raws?
« on: August 11, 2010, 08:00:38 pm »

Specifically, I'm trying to change it so I can make coke from lignite without fuel. I tried deleting the [FUEL] tag in the reaction but that didn't do anything. The only things I've really fiddled with in the raws before were making HFS visible on the embark screen, removing the economy, and making dwarves mature faster, never fiddled with reactions.

Removing the [FUEL] tag should have done it. However, you need to make sure you're editing the right file: if you're editing the one in /raw/objects, it won't have any effect on any worlds you've already generated - you need to edit the one in /data/save/[worldname]/raw/objects so it actually affects your current fortress.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
