Dungeon Hack
« on: July 31, 2010, 05:30:24 am »

Any players here? DH was a commercial roguelike, with randomly generated dungeons, from the early nineties. It was based in D&D and was 3D (as in "Wolfestein 3D". Not as in 3d acceleration). Quite nice, actually.

Looks a lot like Eye of The Beholder. Though I have never heard of this. Might be worth looking into.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Yeah, my feature of the game was how you could alter the dungeon generation settings.

Is it real time like other SSI games, or is it turn-based?

Edit: Wait. Let me rephrase that. I mean does it wait for you to take your turn, or are you going to be slaughtered if you walk away without pausing?

A lot of enemies in the Eye of the Beholder games could be made a lot less scary by constantly strafing. You could probably do the same with these.
