Ok, so can someone tell me what the various (lower) boards are like? I'm not too sure what their purpose is.

Also,
Are you a spam bot?

No. Anyway, why would spam bots come here? It's not like this is the most visited site on the Internet.

The lower boards are really just where we spend our time in between new updates and finding weird glitches in DF.

Now, spam bots show up everywhere, and here is no exception. We recently had a argument over a user who was, in fact, a spam bot. We were not certain of this fact, and argued over it for several pages. Plus, just look at the members list. Many of the accounts regestered are postless and created years ago.

The lower boards are a lot more chillax and slightly silly. Lots of "in crowd" and everybody sorta knows each other. We are like a true community. The upper boards do not really have that. Also most upperers do not come here and to a certain extent the lowerers stay down here some what.

It was a joke based on the last spam bot we had made a hello thread.

(mocking of poor description of forums). (Suggestion to apply more magma)

Dwarf Fortress

-------- (Other projects)

Community

Can't have the Dwarf Fortress Community without both, but most people pick either the upper or the lower sections and tend to spend most of their time there. We are currently in the more community oriented section, a place where te average topic, if it were a vehicle, would be designed for off-road usage, and frequently need it.

Ah yes Df. Spontaneously, I just wondered if it's possible to run it with a visualizer that tracks multiple z-levels at once, similar to how adventure mode does for hills and muddy pools.

But instead of side to side, skew them into a 3d isometric view of a few 2d planes, so you can see what's going on on a main floor, a floor above, and a floor below (or on the surface floor, general quarters, and workshop area)

I'll elaborate if anyone wants a better explanation.

Bay 12 cold war?

Also, that hello thread really went off-topic as well. I blame this on the lack of a 'new user' thread that other forums have.

You could make one. But it would quickly be derailed.

New user threads draw us like bees to pollen. If bees then proceeded to knock the pollen on its ass and talk about other things. So it's not a perfect analogy.

New user threads draw us like mosquitoes to a bug zapper. We flock toward it and then careen off in a different direction entirely.
