My creativity needs more leveling up :P I'm still learning stuff. Like, I don't know how to make waterfall gardens or any other cool stuff.

Talking about putting artifacts in hallways made me think. Is there any way to make use of useless artifacts (alder ring studded with granite, that kind of thing)? Displaying them for architecture value?

Nope, they'll usually get taken by a noble or something. You can always dump them and put them behind a window. Not sure if dwarves get nice thoughts from the ring or whatever though.

They do go in stockpiles though, right? If so, you can just forbid all other rings, and designate a stockpile for only rings.

Yes they do. I have a stockpile of finished goods in my vault that only accepts artifact-quality items.
