magma vs magma flow tiles
« on: July 10, 2010, 05:03:05 pm »

Just wanted to double-check exactly where magma exists based on a tile description: I originally thought that magma is present only on a tile that says "Magma Flow ... Magma 7/7".  If the tile above that says "Open Space ... Magma 7/7", does that actually have magma?  Or is that magma on the floor of the tile?  And if that's the "floor", how does that explain the stack of 10 levels above the magma flow that have the same description?

"Magma Flow" is a tile directly above semi-molten rock. Part of the magma sea, in other words.

Open Space Magma 7/7 definitely has magma in it, and the tile directly below it is not solid either. So any time you see Open Space, Magma 7/7 it ought to be inside a magma pipe or above the SMR in the magma sea.

Tiles where magma is visible but below show as a darker red number than tiles with magma in them.

Ah, thanks.  I thought that the magma was sitting at the bottom of the "magma cavern" right on top of the semi-molten rock, but looks like it fills this cavern completely to the ceiling.  This makes more sense now!
