Magma forges - possible save version problem?
« on: July 11, 2010, 01:34:42 pm »

So I started my game in version df_31_04_win or so, now im on version 10 (copying the save across each time). Have found magma and placed my forge over the top, but it claims I need to have magma under one of the 8 outside tiles.

I got a little angry at this, so I looked for the magma flow at the bottom of the magma, and thought that would give better results. I killed 3 of my dwarfs getting the magma flowing under my forges, but still no luck with a 7/7.

I guess starting a new fort is the best thing to do. Anyone else have this problem? Or am I doing something stupid?

A couple potentially dumb questions:

1. Did you ever have the magma forges working in a previous version 31.04 or whatever?
2. Did you channel out the floor on the square where you want the forge overlapping the magma?

You need to channel a hole through the floor on one of the edge tiles of your magma-enabled workshops.

Perfect! I'm a dirty rotten noob!

Nice.

Thx for the help, no wonder I couldnt get it working. I forgot I had to channel everything, not just the last part.
