We have traveled far, brethren. We few have traveled to escape the wrath of the other races. Our kind has gone to war with them, but we shall have no part in it. So they raid our caravans and trade us nothing. So what? So they massacre our traders in a swarm of soldiers. I, however, still value my life. We have gone to extreme measures in order to survive.

We elves shall embark in a place completely devoid of life, a place where none of those fools would expect us to go. A place where we will be safe from their neverending violence.

A place called Avesali.

My name is Vadane Ramuthone,
And this shall be my home.

Alright, this is an Elven community fort. Here are the available elves, their professions, and also my elf and her profession.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I have heavily modified the elves to make them playable. I added wooden picks,  a custom workshop that turns stone into wood, and a bunch of professions. Join up people!

What's the difference between bowman and archer?...
Anyway, I will take Cata as the only male in the group and as one of the few with pronounceable name :) I've always wanted to see some non-dwarf fortress...

I claim Eriya. No idea how to make that accent, though.

Spoiler: Elves (click to show/hide)

Unfortunately, we Elves are not very familiar with the processes of 'mining' as the stunted ones called it. We gave it our best effort though, and eventually we struck stone. I have begun transmuting these dull, lifeless chunks into blessed wood, so that we may use our surroundings without completely destroying them.

Today, we were given a sign from Cóce that guaranteed our success.

A wild jaguar strode into our camp. Several of us were shocked, for the large felines rarely came close to any known settlements. I wasn't. I KNEW Cóce supported our small group, even if it is far from where we are now.

We have also constructed a barrier around our humble camp. Until such a time as our brethren learn their ways, we shall be completely closed off from anyone else.

1) Only 6 elves?
2) Are the wild animals friendly?
3) You can mine stone with wood? Even... adamantine?...
4) Isn't the rectangle in the northwest a bridge?
5) Is the 'converted' stone and wood completely similar to 'dwarf' stone?
6) What can you do with non-converted stone?

1) Oops. Forgot one. Here he is:
2) Yes.
3) Yes.
4) Yes. I added several professions as well.
5)The 'converted' stone is turned into highwood.
6)Anything you can normally do with stone.
-------------------------
Once we got deeper into the stone, we began carving out simple dwellings for ourselves...

I dug deeper into the earth, digging a stairwell in case our brethren decide to come live with us, and i found something.

The sight of this cavern brought a tear to my eye. The water, protected from the heat by the solid earth, would bring us moisture for many decades to come. Also, many creatures are said to roam the depths of the earth, and i am intent on studying them.

We're currently building a platform over what I am going to dub "The Deep Blueness", so that we may fish and use the water for farms.

I saw Famime lose his bowels over the side of the thing.
"What's wrong, brother Famime?!"
He simply pointed.
Sitting there were three grotesque creatures. I don't think you could even call them creatures. They seemed to be sacks of flesh.

They're the most disgusting things I've ever seen. I nearly lost MY bowels. Thank Cóce that the things are too far away to smell!!

I had a nice long chat with two other elves, Dariush and Diablous.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Dariush asked me to cause a cave-in on the flesh balls. I scolded him and reminded him that that would most definitely taint our water supply with tiny particles of grit. Besides, they're living creatures too. Then i shooed him away, for i had other things to take care of at the time.

We had to butcher one of our own today. Our horse, the one who has taken our goods this far, was killed and we were forced to eat it. I am deeply disturbed at this violation of nature. Have we really sunk this low?

*sigh*....Anyway, some of our brethren were kind enough to join us. Seven more elves have joined our small settlement.

The next couple of seasons were pretty uneventful. I drew some pictures!

One of the newer migrants produced a figurine of our former druid that was extravagant!
Hmm. I shall watch this one closely.

*The writing is smudged in some place, and there is some intense water damage to this material.*
Liyiyi died today....
.....
She was being foolish, channeling the roof of our farm when it just....
collapsed....

*There is really bad smudging on the writing below, making it almost unreadable.*
I'm such a horrible leader....
Ile Ovaaslefa died too....
She went into the farm to dig out some ice, and we found her encased in a solid block of the stuff....

She...she appeared to be screaming. As the only miner left, it was my job to dig her back out...

I'm going to dig out a tomb in the underground.
I had a bridge built to one of the pillars.

I worked long into the night, long after everyone else slept.
Sometime in the night, i heard footsteps.
The clerk wanted a meeting with me.
As he crossed the drawbridge, the traitor revealed himself.

I screamed at Narena to run, but...
I was too late...

Dariush pulled the lever and ran. The drawbridge sent Narena flying into the waters of the cavern. He...
Brave Narena......
........

Maybe it's for the best that i'm trapped down here.....

The underground is no place for the weak of soul and body! If you're hesitant to kill those... creatures when they are unagressive, you can't be allowed to live here in case you will also hesitate when they devour/jump on/push off into water our limp bodies!
