Silly mods you've done in 2010
« on: June 23, 2010, 04:18:53 pm »

I for one wanted to creat a mod where pancakemen and Mac and Cheesemen where fighting an apocalyptic battle to end all battles. In the end I only gave humans syrup for blood. So know when ever I blow humie heads off syrup goes flying everywhere, it gives me a chuckle. Do you have any weird mods you made for yourself?

I was playing with the bonfire mod and I made it so anything that is near it immediately turns to ash. Rocks, metal and dwarfs alike.

I was also playing with the idea of poison traps and through a brief test I managed to poison all my dwarfs...

This is the rock I'm using.

Quote
[INORGANIC:DEATH_STONE]
[USE_MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:STONE_TEMPLATE]
[STATE_NAME_ADJ:ALL_SOLID:death_stone][DISPLAY_COLOR:0:7:1][TILE:'*']
[SPEC_HEAT:250]
[IGNITE_POINT:10020]
[MELTING_POINT:10016]
[BOILING_POINT:10017]
[SOLID_DENSITY:10000]
[IS_STONE]
[STATE_COLOR:GAS:ASH_GRAY]
[STATE_NAME:GAS:death dust]
[STATE_NAME:GAS:death dust]
[SYNDROME]
   [SYN_NAME:death dust]
   [SYN_AFFECTED_CLASS:GENERAL_POISON]
   [SYN_INHALED][SYN_CONTACT]
   [CE_NECROSIS:SEV:1000:PROB:100:RESISTABLE:START:1000:PEAK:1000:END:100000]
   [CE_PARALYSIS:SEV:1000:PROB:100:RESISTABLE:START:1000:PEAK:1000:END:100000]
   [CE_UNCONSCIOUSNESS:SEV:1000:PROB:100:RESISTABLE:START:1000:PEAK:1000:END:100000]

It's a subterranean rock ONLY if it goes on the surface (if it isn't below 10015 Dorf Degrees) it'll boil. I accidently deleted the save that I did some changes on, so if this doesn't work I'll have to change it again.

But more or less it worked this way...

========== <- hatches with the stones stored on top of them.
OOOOOOOOO <- empty space, because the fire would heat the stones if it were this close.
__B__B__B__ <- path with bonfires in it. Typically three wide. I haven't perfected it yet. I have a few ways I do it, When I add the entrance to my current fort, I'll upload it so you can see it.
[][][][][][][][ <- solid ground

Hope that little visual turns out alright for you and you understand it.

But more or less you pull the lever hooked to the hatches, the stones drop onto the bonfires, the boil and poison the air. Note that you can have multiple z-levels of hatches just in case or store multiple stones on the hatches so you hit a more solid area. You are relying on the stuff to be inhaled and/or contact them.

I could mod the bonfires and stones so it could have an outdoor use, but underground temp is steady.

You got a duplicate state name tag.

As for my product of sillyness,

   [SELECT_MATERIAL:ALL]
      [BOILING_POINT:0]
      [STATE_COLOR:ALL:PINK]
      [STATE_NAME_ADJ:GAS:poof!]

I dont quite recall the reason I made this, but it makes a creature go poof in a little pink cloud.

@Grimmy, that'd probably be one of the few changes I made from the save I deleted...

I did almost the exact same thing, but I made it a rock that was a corpse item for a caste that was about 1/4th of my population. They just go poof when they die. Unfortunately, no pink cloud though.

Made a Nacho race. With 3 Castes. But they always bleed to death and there would be Cheese everywhere!

How might one go about changing elven traders to act this way? and is the cheese edible?

Add an elf cheese material to your elves, and replace

[BODY_DETAIL_PLAN:VERTEBRATE_TISSUE_LAYERS:SKIN:FAT:MUSCLE:BONE:CARTILAGE]

with

[BODY_DETAIL_PLAN:VERTEBRATE_TISSUE_LAYERS:SKIN:CHEESE:CHEESE:BONE:CARTILAGE]

Now butchering your elves wont yield fat and meat, but cheese!

Note that you will have to change your civs ethics to be able to butcher treehuggers.

An altername method is to give elves a chunk of cheese as corpse item.

The silliest thing I've done was mod cats to spin webs. Which, while good for a disturbing visual or two, isn't all that silly. I should do something better....

....although I think I'll add that POOF! tag to goblins  :P

all furniture made of Gniess shows up as a "Very Gniess table" or a "Very Gniess block"
