Burns and heat damage
« on: June 28, 2010, 04:37:14 am »

Basically, when an item or substance with a temperature greater than a certain threshold comes into contact with an organic creature, there should be immediate damage in the form of burns. These burn wounds will be superficial, limited to outermost exposed layers (e.g. skin and fat), and will cause pain, light bleeding, blistering, or in more extreme cases, charring and loss of sensation.

Unlike the current system, tissues will not melt unless there is prolonged exposure to heat. Death from prolonged heat exposure should be caused by organ failure(including failure of the brain) rather than bleeding.

Cat:"THIEF! Protect the hoard from the skulking filth!"
The resulting party killed 20 dwarves, crippled 2 more and the remaining 9 managed to get along and have a nice party.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.
