it has become clear that not much happens in hell. I killed a mole brute demon and a forgotten beast but there really wasn't much else there, just a lot of slade and some red stuff. Am I missing something? what should I do? I explored most of it. is there any way of finding a demonic fortress of some sort?

after killing the initial wave of demons none others seemed to have spawned.

Demonic fortresses appear in the same way adamantine did back in 40d, i.e. once per region tile.

The demons should respawn, while the more you kill, the more appear. Must be a bug.

But hey, try to build a fortress down there

can't get any deeper, i've reached the bottom. sadly.

I was thinking of building a fort but considering how long it took me to get a staircase and some floor tiles all the way down there it's quite a scary proposition for my sanity.
