In my effort to better understand DF and thereby mod it, I have been browsing the various raw files.  A quick scan tells me that the easiest area to master should be the fanciful creatures file.  I am currently under the impression that this file is for
A) Creatures that do not exist within DF, but are imaginary (such as pretty much everything in DF is to the real world)
or
B) Placeholders for Mr. Toady while he works out some coding problems or focuses on other areas of gameplay
Is there a definite A or B answer for this file, or is it both?  Or have I really misread this file?  Would these mod-doodles (modoodles?) be viable?

it's an A, they're creatures that show up on engravings, but do not actually exist.
