Brain Damage and Drowsiness
« on: June 23, 2010, 06:45:16 pm »

My adventurer recently had a pretty serious head injury while exploring the caverns.   His skull is smashed apart, and his brain has some light bruising.  At first I thought it was a death sentence, but he seems to be fine, for the most part.  However, I just slept three times in a row interrupted, and he is still drowsy.  Is this normal?

I've never heard of that happening before. 'Course, I've never heard of anyone surviving a smashed skull before either, so I could be wrong. Were you interrupted when you were sleeping? I dunno how that would affect the sleep quality. If you can never get rid of the drowsiness, you'll go melancholy. STAY AWAY FROM CLIFFS.

Man, your BRAIN is bruised. Get out of there and sleep for a few years, until your skull knits itself back together.

Eh, I ended up dying of impatience (suicide) after failing to find anything badass to kill.

Wasn't brain damage ALWAYS INSTANT death?

I could have sworn ALL of the brain damage I have seen (mostly caused) has resulted in instant death.

My adventurer once had a yellow brain, and still functioned fine. I guess they just dont use it that much.

Only if it's torn to pieces or crushed. A bruised or cut brain is fine. At least, as fine as brain damage can be.

Thing is, I HAVE bruised or just torn brains (not torn apart) and it has ALWAYS resulted in INSTANT death.

I've bruised the occasional opponent's brain without instant death.

Death shortly followed from repeated bashing though, so it's not much to go on  :P

That happens, the major artery tag for throats and hearts is broken currently, so no heart ripping or throat slashing.
