Visualizer utilities?
« on: June 24, 2010, 10:56:26 am »

Is there a fortress visualizer that works with DF2010? VisualFortress didn't work, and Stonesense never actually loads my map. Can anyone help?

(I hope I'm not repeating a thread, I didn't see anything through the Search function)

I can't get Stonesense to load either. Pity, cause I want to use it. :/

I don't think there are any 3D visualizers for DF2010 yet.

Nope. Obsidian will work one of these days, but other than that there's only Stonesense.

Yes, Stonesense does work. You ought to check its thread on the Modding subforum for the latest version, though. It sounds like you're trying to use a 40d version.

Any chance of 3Dwarf or Visual Fortress ever being updated?

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Both of them are quite dead, as far as I know.

Your best bet is probably to wait for Obsidian.

I re-downloaded the most recent one, which says it's compatible up to 31.08, just to be sure. Is it supposed to take upwards of fifteen minutes twenty minutes forty minutes to load the map? I have RENDERING set to DIRECTX in the init file.

The official version of Stonesense does NOT yet support .08

You must download the .08 memory XML in the thread, OR Just download this pack with it pre-installed:
http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=2562
You can also try my Lazy Newb Pack, which has it packed in.

That's the one. I'm still running 31.06 anyway.

Alas, I have never gotten Stonesense to work either. I have tried multiple versions but it never loads.
