Axes and Hammers IMO.

Most dwarf iconography through most fiction (tolkien and beyond) has the angry midgets hefting either of these two. i am however suddenly struck with inspiration to convert a Warhammer fantasy miniature to be swinging around an elf though.

Picks, because it is effective, associated with dwarfy things like mining and is an improvised weapon.

I'd probably put axes next- they cut down both enemies and trees- then misc objects and hammers.

I voted axes, simply because if I close my eyes and imagine dwarves killing goblins they are using axes. Hammers would have been my second choice, though.

As for the comments about axes being no good in close dwarven tunnels, I'd say close dwarven tunnels is an oxymoron.
