The ant version of Dwarf Fortress.
Surely the ant version of DF is SimAnt?
EDIT: Yes, there is a Sim version of everything.

One difference:
Simant sucked.

SimAnt was okay, but it was fairly limited (as ants only do so much). However, it certainly doesn't have anything on DF. For instance, in DF, that ant city design could be copied pretty well, but not in SimAnt (ironically).

Best summary of Dwarf Fortress:
I'm fairly certain every path in the game leads to some sort of massive execution.

Ant colonies must get terrible FPS.

Toady, how much of DF is inspired by Labyrinth? Is Armok actually David Bowie? Because that would simultaneously be disturbing and awesome.

An Ant Fortress would be good. Fight off termites and other crawlies, breed little food insects, and grow fungus. Instead of trees, have blades of grass.

They're much more like Dwarves than you realise.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

I just got a dwarf that "prefers to consume ant" is this even possible?

Also I would so sign up to test an ant fortress mod if someone made it.

I've seen SOME kind of food made out of ants, but I didn't take a screenshot of it. I'm pretty sure it came out of the kitchen, so one of the ingredients probably had something to do with ants.

Anyone that wants to make this, feel free to use anything in my Insect Invasion mod (see sig). There's some body parts and creatures you might want to use. Also if you do start this mod, I want in.
