I didn't post anything until now because I didn't have much time to play around with the sounds. I had a little time yesterday though so I spent a few hours with the new sounds provided. Be careful at the start, there is a fairly loud sound effect (think radio squeal or static)
Here is the fruit (haha it's made in fruity loops) of my labor:
http://www.box.net/shared/clm0jafvs1What currently needs fixing in the beat when I work on it more:
Long unnecessary silence with belated zombie groans at the very end (easy fix)
The new Drum from Armok needs more patterns and also the current patterns need some work (moderate)
New brass synth that uses some of ed boy's notes needs some fine tuning to fit the song better (moderate)
The zombie groans are too quiet compared to the rest of the instruments (pain in the ass, low priority and can be done just before final version)
Also, I fixed up a final version of the modified TF2 theme song. The only difference is the gaps have been fixed.
http://www.box.net/shared/mmf562o5u2ed boy:
I plugged in that tune and tried to put it in with various brass instruments. I ended up changing the notes around to fit better with the TF2 theme because that part of the song changes tempo so much that the song has to be built around it. The easiest way to do that is to play any other note sequence with the same pitch variations. If you listen at 0:19 after the horn bump while the main horn from the TF2 theme is descending, you can hear the brass synthesizer I chose playing different notes and they all descend at the same rate as the TF2 theme despite being a discernible pattern because it uses the same main pitch slider. Anyways, unless you can find a recording of those notes being played, I can't think of too much to do with those exact notes right now without spending lots of time experimenting.
If you'd like a copy of those notes being played, I can send you a link to some patterns I made for you through PMs if you'd like. It only takes about 5 or 10 minutes to make it, and then I can play it in any instrument that I have a sound for instantly so I can make a number of patterns for you if you'd like.
