I believe you must add the [WEAPON] tag to to metal somewhere... (or not, I suck at modding)

inorganic_metal.txt, just look at say Iron and copy over the weapon tag to Platinum.

due to the nature of the raws(I think) a platinum warhammer would be somewhere between a copper warhammer and a pile of sand in the shape of a hammer.

The game doesn't care how soft weapon metals are if you tag them. Realistically you'd never make these weapons into metals but in DF the hammers never take durability damage. Platinum warhammers are great.

I'm not expert, but it was always my understanding that platinum was rather hard (IRL), unlike gold, which in its pure form is more like playdough.
