Salty Well?
« on: June 08, 2010, 08:24:10 am »

Hey all,

I remember making a well over channelled salt water before and it allowing dwarves to drink from it. Has this been fixed?
I ask because I channeled saltwater into my base. Build a well over it.

And cant set it as a water zone :(

Isn't Dwarf Fortress just a game of delayed free-fall into a hideously painful and frighteningly horrific death?

I'm fairly certain that wells no longer desalinate. Pumps still should but i can't personally confirm this though i've read a few posts by others saying they still do in the current build.

I've never got a well to do it in the new version. But pumps mostly work. It seems like sometimes, nothing will work, then out of no where, its suddenly clean water again.

This is a platinum warhammer. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. it menaces with spikes of platinum.
there is an image of the goblin Utes Gozrusrozsnus and dwarves in elf bone. The goblin is making a plaintive gesture. the dwarves are striking a menacing pose.
this image relates to the slaying of Utes Gozrusroz

I know pumps desalination work will be reversed if a natural wall is touched.
