You can automatically forbid death items. Not quite the same thing but yes, it can be done.

Actually, you can really prevent the theft of clothes, leaving the dwarves only to recycle the pick or battle axe carried IIRC: If you (b)uild a coffin and make it tomb (the room option for coffins) and then assign it to the dwarf while she is still alive, they will not only bury her in the coffin but also consider all her clothes as her property and put them inside the tomb room (if possible, otherwise they will let them lie where they are).

On the ground, unless you place a chest and cabinet in the tomb.
