Submarine...
« on: May 29, 2010, 02:23:48 pm »

I believe somewhere out there, someone knows how to create a submarine (dwarf-made islands will do, as long as it goes to the sea floor) without draining the ocean or digging from below the ocean, and then up. Im not looking for magma submarines but an idea as how to get to the bottom of the ocean and live. I know of the problem that occurs when built objects fall...they disassemble. Is there another way, or is it possible to mod the game so that objects dont deconstruct when they fall. Any ideas?

Cast a huge obsidian block hanging over the ocean, then collapse it, then dig through it.  I think that would work but Ive never actually done it.

the thing is, ive never gotten "far-enough" to begin such a construction as pumping magma that far really. kind of a noob me-self. ill go for that though.

An other way is to have pump the magma in the desired shape into the water. If done correctly, it will cave in and sink to the bottom. Continue doing this until you've got your island.
