Quick question on giving things molten blood
« on: May 19, 2010, 04:20:33 pm »

What would be the easiest/quickest way to give my dwarves, or another creature, blood of molten metal? They already have steel skin, so they would just need something that melts at a lower temperature right? I.e. I want to give them molten lead for blood, how would I go about changing the raws to get this effect? If I would need to change other things as well to make sure they survived, I could do that too.

The only way I can figure it out is to make a new metal material of your liking that is molten at room/body temperature.

Though I am not sure as I haven't played with that part of modding yet.

You don't need to worry about the temperature if their skin is steel. If I recall correctly just replacing their blood tag with.

[BLOOD:INORGANIC:LEAD:LIQUID]

Should do the trick. You much have to make Lead LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT and do [BLOOD:LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT:LEAD:LIQUID], but I do not believe so.

If, say, you made a bronze colossus' blood molten metal, would he be able to bleed out? Because that would be AWESOME.

Metal blood for bronze colossi? Too easy. The correct way is to tame a dragon, then let it take care of such a minor nuisance. Dragonfire can kill bronze colossi. Though you might need more than one dragon...

More than one? But there is only a few dozens spawned at the dawn of time... and they can't breed!

You forgot a detail: Dorfs get webbed in GCS webs and trigger traps. Right now we have some 12 caged dwarves, including you.

Dragonfire can kill anything. It's one of the only ways to kill unkillable creatures.
